Concertino Praga has a winner
This year’s competition has been won by the fourteen-year-old pianist Vsevolod Zavidov from Russia. Second place went to the fifteen-year-old violinist Daniel Matejča from the Czech Republic and the third-place winner was the fourteen-year-old Russian trumpeter Aleksandr Rublev.
The winners of the 54th Antonín Dvořák International Radio Competition were chosen at a public concert in the Rudolfinum on Saturday 12 September 2020. Four young performers progressed to the final on the basis of their competition recordings; the pianist Jan Schulmeister and violinist Daniel Matejča from the Czech Republic and two Russian musicians, Aleksandr Rublev and Vsevolod Zavidov.

The fourteen-year-old Russian pianist Vsevolod Zavidov, who chose Franz Liszt’s Piano Concerto no. 1 in E-flat major, impressed the jury most with his performance. In addition to a cheque for 5000 EUR from the Karel Komárek Family Foundation, he also received the Czech Radio Prize, which will enable him to record and issue a CD, and a cheque for the amount of 15,000 CZK as the Bohuslav Martinů Foundation Prize.
The winners were chosen by a twelve-member jury consisting of conductor Jakub Hrůša, pianinsts Ivo Kahánek and Lukáš Vondráček, violinists Václav Hudeček and Dmitry Sitkovetsky, flautist Walter Auer, oboist Francois Leleux, clarinettist Daniel Ottensamer, trumpeter Marek Zvolánek, harpist Jana Boušková, CEO of Czech Phil David Mareček and music producer Thibaut Maillard.
