The jury sitting of the International Radio Competition 2009 has finished
On February 8, 2009 a jury of 43rd year of the International Radio Competition of Young Musicians Concertino Praga 2009 assessed all registered recordings. From the total amount of 14 recordings made in 8 countries of the world (Poland, Greece, Estonia, Russia, Lithuania, Portugal, Bulgaria and the Czech Republic), the jury members choose the best interprets in categories duo, trio, quartet and quintet.
What was new this year was the age of participants that was limited to 16 years (whereas one ensemble member could reach the age of 18). In accordance with the competition rules, the recordings were assessed anonymously, only after prices awarding, the jury got a list of interprets´ names. The chairman of the jury was Jiří Bárta and other jury members were Adam Skoumal (Czech Republic), Helena Bondarenko (Russia), Clara Novak (Italy), Wolfgang W. Meyer (Germany) and representatives of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) Alina Velea (Rumania) and László Terdik (Hungary). The director of Euroradia Classic and a representative of EBU Pierre-Yves Tribolet was also present as a neutral observer.
There were three recordings from the Czech Republic. Their interprets were winners of the National Radio Competition of the Czech Republic Concertino Praga 2009 which is an entrance to the international competition (the national competition had a five-member jury, chairman of which was František Novotný and other jury members were Jana Brožková, Kateřina Váchová, Martin Kasík and Václav Kunt).
The winners of the 43rd year of the competition - its laureates - will come to the Czech Republic in June 2009 in order to prove their superiority and perform at the Gala Concert in Prague Rudolfinum. The Concert takes place on June14, 2009. After that the young musicians will participate at 41st year of the South Bohemian Festival Concertino Praga, a traditional concert tour of south Bohemian cities (Jindřichův Hradec, Bechyně, Český Krumlov and Třeboň).
