Curriculum vitaes of prizewinners of the 42nd edition of Concertino Praga 2008

Daniela Koch (born September 8, 1989, in Kitzbühel, Austria) She started playing the recorder at the age of seven and since the age of nine she has been playing the flute. In the following years she won several first prizes as well as special prices of the national youth competition "Prima la musica". At the age of sixteen she started her studies at the Universität Mozarteum Salzburg with Prof. Michael Martin Kofler who is also a former laureate of Concertino Praga competition. At the moment she is still attending the grammar school in St. Johann in Tirol and she is going to have her A-levels in June 2008. In 2006 she was a finalist of the Eurovision Young Musician Competition in Vienna and also laureate of the Austrian Lions Competition. In July 2007 she won the 3rd prize of the 1st International Crusell Flute Competition in Finland. In addition to that she has already played concerts as a soloist of the Vienna Symphonic Orchestra, Virtuosi di Kuhmo, Tiroler Kammerorchester InnStrumenti and the Tiroler Landesjugendorchester in Austria, Italy, Germany, Switzerland and Finland.

Narek Arutyunyan
(born June 13, 1992, in Gümri, Armenia)

He began to study clarinet at the age of ten and currently studies at the Moscow Central music school with docent Yevgeniy Petrov of the Moscow Conservatory. Narek is a laureate of the 2 Moscow competition of young clarinetists (2nd prize in 2005), Rotary competition(Grand Prix in 2005), the 6th "Nutcracker" International TV competition (Golden Nutcracker in 2005) and Moscow International competition "Music youth of the planet". He was awarded a Prix of the State Symphony Orchestra "New Russia" and recorded a CDas its soloist. Narek performed in concerts in Russia (Moscow, Saint Petersburg), Poland, Greece, Italy, Switzerland and France (Paris - Theater des Champs Elysees). He performed as a soloist with D. Orlov's Moscow symphony orchestra, chamber orchestra "Kremlin", V. Spivakov's "Virtuosos of Moscow", A. Rudin's "Musica Viva" and the State Symphony Orchestra "New Russia".

Jan Czech
(born December 1, 1992, in Nymburk, Czech Republic)

In 1999 Jan started attending the Music school of F. A. pork in Lysá nad Labem where he first learnt playing the piano at the classes of Ellina Belchikov and later in 2003 he started attending clarinet lessons of Zbyňek Erben. In 2004 he became a student of the secondary school in Nymburk and in 2006 he passed exams for the Music classs of the Jan Neruda grammar school in Prague and started attending lessons of prof. Milan Polák. In 2006 Jan was awarded the 1st prize in the National competition of the music schools in the clarinet category. In 2008 he was awarded the 1st prize in the National radio competition of the Czech Republic Concertino Praga.

Lívia Duleba
(born December 23, 1989, in Nyíregyháza, Hungary)

She started to play the flute at age of nine. In 2004 she entered the Béla Bartók Conservatory Miskolc and was a student of it until 2006. During this period she participated at mastercourses of András Kozma, Gergely Ittzés, István Matuz and Emilio Galante. From 2006 she is a student of Béla Bartók Conservatory, Budapest under the professional direction of Gyula Csetényi. In 2007 Lívia won the 1st prize and a Special Prize at the 7th National Flute Competition for Conservatories in memoriam Elek Tihamér, and in the same year she was an active member at a mastercourse of András Adorján.

Mikhail Gayduk
(born January 14, 1990, in Feodosia, Russia)

He began to study trumpet at the age of ten at Kharkov secondary music school. Since 2006 he studies in Moscow in the Central music school, and his teacher is professor Vadim Novikov of the Moscow Conservatory. Mikhail performed in concerts in Russia, Ukraine, Germany and Austria as a soloist and member of an orchestra. He won the 1st prizes of the International competition for wind and percussion instruments in Chernovtsy and Beethoven Open competition in Kharkov in 2004, the International competition for wind instruments in Moscow in 2006 and the International competition "Music youth of the planet" in Moscow in 2007.

Denisa Gřonková
(born May 22, 1991, in Ostrava, Czech Republic)

After Denisa had been playing the flute and piano for four years, at her age of ten she started playing the oboe at the classes of Miroslava Zajončková and attended the Music school of Vilém Petrželka in Ostrava. The choice of the instrument was not random as her grandmother was an orchestra member of the Silesian theatre in Opava. Currently she has been a student of the Janáček Conservatory in Ostrava for two years in the class of Jiří Židek. Denisa participated in a lot of competitions of both solo and chamber playing. At the regional level of the competitions she was awarded the 1st prizes in both categories. In 2006 she was a winner in her category also at the national level of the competition. In 2008 she was awarded the 1st prize in the International Radio Competition for Young Musicians Concertino Praga.

Walter Hofbauer
(born July 22, 1994, in Jihlava, Czech Republic)

Walter is devoted to the music since his early age thanks to musical profession of his parents. In 2000 he started playing the piano at the Music school in Třešť. When he was eight, he started playing the trumpet. In 2005 his teacher Evžen Mašát registered Walter at 5th International competition of brass instruments organised by the Conservatory in Brno. He was awarded the 1 prize in the category "Junior" as the youngest participant of the competition and the title of the absolute winner. He proved both the 1st prize and the title of absolute winner in the following year. In 2006Walter was awarded the 1 prize in the National competition of the music schools in the category brass instruments. One year later he participated in the national competition as a member of the brass quintet Jihlava where he plays the first trumpet. The quintet was awarded the 1st prize and nominated to the concert of winners. In the years 2006 and 2007 he was awarded the title "Talent of Vysočina Region". He is a successful piano player as well a soloist of a big brass orchestra TUTTI in Jihlava. He has been consulting professor Jiří Jaroněk at the Prague conservatory for three years. And also thanks to this careful preparation he was awarded 2nd prize of the National Radio Competition of the Czech Republic Concertino Praga 2008.

Jan Hudeček
(born August 13, 1990, in České Budějovice, Czech Republic)

Jan has been playing the bassoon since he was six. He started playing at the Music school of B. Jeremiáš and currently he has been a student of the conservatory in České Budějovice for three years at the class of Zdeněk Haloun. Jan was a winner of the National competition of the music schools in Uničov already when he was ten. One year later he was awarded the 2 prize in the International competition in Olomouc (age category up to 16 years). In the years 2000, 2003 and 2006 he was awarded the 1st prizes in the competition called "Talent of the South-Bohemian region". In 2002 he was awarded the 2nd prize in the International competition Syrinx at the national level and the title "The most expressive talent of the competition". In 2003 Jan was again a winner in the National competition in Uničov and was awarded for the best performance in the bassoon category. In November 2004 he participated in the International competition of music schools in the brass instruments category in Jastrzebie Zdroj (Poland) where he was among 13 finalists the only bassoonist aged up to 20 years from all 86 participants. Next, Jan was awarded the 1st prize of the National competition of conservatories in Pilsen and then beginning of April 2005 he performed at the concert of winners. The same year he was successful when he participated in the 15th International competition Concorso Internazionale per Giovani Musicisti "Citta di Barletta" that took place in Barletta, where he was awarded the 1st prize and at the same time he became the absolute winner of all categories of the competition of brass instruments. In 2005 he was awarded a Special Prize "Golden Nut 2005". Jan has already twice performed as a soloist with South-Bohemian chamber philharmonics thanks to his title laureate of the competition organized by the same orchestra. He regularly plays with Czech-Moravia philharmonics orchestra and Třeboň spa symphonic orchestra. His latest success is the 1st prize in 30th year of the National competition of conservatories and the 2 prize in the International Radio Competition for Young Musicians Concertino Praga 2008.

Pavel Janeček
(born June 12, 1990, in Mariánské Lázně, Czech Republic)

Pavel started playing the flute when he was six. He attended courses of Josef Koreis at the Music school of Fryderyk Chopin in Mariánské Lázně. Two years later he started playing the trumpet and became a member of the Brass orchestra for young artists and performed in a lot of European countries. Since 2005 he has been studying the trumpet with professor Jiří Jaroněk at the Music class of the Jan Neruda grammar school in Prague. In the school year 2002/2003 Pavel was awarded the 1st prize in the Regional competition of the music schools. As a member of school groups and other groups and orchestras he participates in a lot of concert performances. Some of the most important are the following: two concerts with the Czech chamber orchestra, concert with the Symphonic orchestra of the Jan Neruda grammar school, solo performance inWolfsburg (Germany), last but not least a concert with the chamber ensemble Verner Collegium. In 2006 he passed out trumpet courses of Erich Rinner and he participated in the interpretative seminary of Guy Touvron. He was awarded the 2nd prize of the International Radio Competition for Young Musicians Concertino Praga 2008.

(born June 6, 1989, in Budapest, Hungary)

He started to play bassoon at age of eleven. Three years later he entered the Béla Bartók Conservatory and in the same year he won the National Bassoon Competition for Music Schools in Sopron. The next three years he participated at the same competition, and he won the 2nd prize, a Special Prize and one more 1st prize. He had two tours as a member of the European Union Youth Orchestra and in 2007 he was a reservist member of the Schleswig-Holstein Youth World Orchestra. He partook at mastercourses of Eckart Hübner, György Lakatos and György Keszler. He worked with conductors such as Colin Davis, Lutz Kohler, Herbert Blomstedt, Leonidas Kavakos and Iván Fischer. Bálint had concerts all over in Hungary, Luxembourg, Germany, Great Britain, Netherlands, Italy and Slovakia.

Karolína Smutná
(born July 7, 1990, in Brno, Czech Republic)

Karolína played the recorder at the Music school in Oslavany since she was six, later her father started teaching her playing the flute. Since then she has been among the most expressive musical talents. She has always been a winner in regional competitions, not only as a soloist but also as a member of a chamber orchestra. In 2005 she passed exams for the Conservatory in Brno and attended classes of Božena Růžičková. From the very beginning she participates in various concerts where she performs pieces of contemporary authors (J. Novák, C. Kohoutek etc). In 2006 she was awarded the 2nd prize (the 1st prize was not awarded) in the 30th year of the National competition of conservatories. In spring 2007 she travelled to Skopje (Macedonia) to participate in the International competition Macedonium and was awarded the 1st prize and the Prize of Pepa Sion for the best flutist. During the years 2006 and 2007 she participated in one-day courses of a Franch flutist Florenc Bellon and an American flutist Carin Levine at the Janáček Academy of Arts in Brno. In summer 2007 she passed out master courses being led by Václav Kunt. In January this year she was awarded the 1st prize by the jury of the National Radio Competition of the Czech Republic Concertino Praga 2008.

Nadya Stoilova
(born May 1, 1990, in Sofia, Bulgaria)

She studies flute at the National School of Music "Lyubomir Pipkov". Her first flute lesson was in March 1999 in Iavor Jelev's class. In March 2000 Nadya participated in the Summer class of chamber music leaded by Iosif Radianov. In 2001 she took part in the 3 National Meeting of Art Schools in Stara Zagora (Bulgaria). In March 2002 she won the 2nd award in the 1st age group in category flute at the National Wind Instruments Contest "Classical Music and Modernity", Stara Zagora. In 2004 she won the 1st award at the 1st International Competition Young Virtuosos, Bulgaria. She also took part in prof. George Spasov's flute classes (2004-2007) and received master s certificates. In 2007 Nadya achieved the 3rd place at the Annual Solfeggio Contest of prof. Kamen Popdimitrov (Bulgaria). In 2007 she received encouraging award at the 7th International Contest for German and Austrian Music in Bourgas (Bulgaria). The same year she took part in the master classes of prof.Wolfgang and Matias Shulz, Austria, won the 1st prize at Young Virtuosos Competition as well as the 2nd award for flute players at the 12th International Competition "Hopes, Talents, Masters", Dobrich-Albena (Bulgaria).

Alexander Vvedenskiy
(born November 9, 1991, in Moscow, Russia)

He began to study oboe at the age of eight at the Central music school with professor Gennadiy Kerentsev of the Moscow Conservatory. Since 2006 his teacher is professor Aleksey Utkin of the Moscow. Alexander is a laureate of the 8th Moscow festival of young soloists (2002), Rotary competition (2003) and "Nutcracker" International TV competition (2005). He was awarded Grand Prix of the International WIENERKLASSIK competition in Austria in 2007 and Mozart Wunderkind Special Prize. Since 2005 he has been receiving a scholarship of Rostropovich Foundation. Alexander performed in concerts in Russia (Moscow), Denmark (Copenhagen), Sweden (Stockholm) and France(Paris, Gaveau concert hall, 2006). He performed as a soloist with D. Orlov's Moscow symphony orchestra, chamber orchestra "Kremlin" and V. Spivakov's "Virtuosos of Moscow".

Sergey Yeletskiy
(born June 25, 1989, in Moscow, Russia)

He began to play flute at the age of five, and went to music school at seven to study clarinet. At the age of eight he participated in the concert to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of Mstislav Rostropovich in the Grand Hall of the Moscow Conservatory.He is a Moscow Conservatory student currently studying with docent Yevgeniy Petrov. Sergey is a laureate of Sergey Rozanov Competition for clarinetists in Moscow and the 4th Yevgeniy Mravinskiy Competition for young musicians in Saint-Petersburg. He participated in the "Moscow meet friends" competition in 2005 and 2007 and in the International competition in Colmar (France). Sergey performed in concerts in Russia, France, Greece, Switzerland, Latvia, Denmark, Sweden, UAE, Norway, Great Britain, Bulgaria and Israel. Since 2000 he receives a scholarship of Vladimir Spivakov's International charity foundation.
