South Bohemian Festival Concertino Praga 2025: The Music of a New Generation in the Heart of South Bohemia

11. listopad 2025

This year’s South Bohemian Festival Concertino Praga, held from 15 to 19 September 2025, once again presented a series of exceptional concerts featuring the laureates of the Concertino Praga competition. The festival traditionally follows the Prague finals and offers the winners and finalists the opportunity to showcase their talent to audiences beyond the capital – in the historical halls, castles, and cultural venues of South Bohemia.

Over five festival days, music resounded in Písek, Bechyně, Tábor, and Jindřichův Hradec, where the young performers captivated hundreds of listeners. The concert programs featured a diverse selection of Czech and international works – from Baroque and Romantic music to compositions by contemporary authors. The repertoire included pieces by J. S. Bach, Mozart, Dvořák, Martinů, and Saint-Saëns.

The festival opened with a concert in Písek, held in the Church of the Holy Trinity. The following days brought performances in Vok’s Hall at Bechyně Manor, at Střelnice Hall in Tábor, and the final concert took place in the Knights’ Hall of Jindřichův Hradec Castle. There, all the laureates performed together, confirming that the young generation of musicians has much to offer.

All concerts were recorded by Czech Radio Vltava, allowing audiences to relive the festival’s atmosphere through broadcast recordings.
