Yeonah Kim
A talented young violinist from South Korea charmed the jury and has become the youngest finalist of this year’s competition.
Yeonah Kim was born in 2014 in Seoul, South Korea. She began playing the violin at the age of four and has been studying at the Seoul Central Conservatory under the guidance of Sunny Lee since she was five. Yeonah made her solo debut with a chamber orchestra at the age of six and has since won top prizes in numerous national competitions.
In 2022, at just eight years old, she became the youngest ever participant selected for the prestigious Kumho Prodigy Audition. A year later, she won second prize at the Arthur Grumiaux International Violin Competition in Belgium and received second prize along with the Audience Award at the Piccolo Violino Magico competition in Italy. In September 2023, she became the youngest ever winner of first prize, the Audience Award, and the Young Jury Award at the Zhuhai International Mozart Competition for Young Musicians in China.
In April 2024, she made her debut at the Kumho Prodigy Concert. Starting in March 2025, she will be performing with the Prime Philharmonic Orchestra, and is soon set to appear with the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra.
