Enter the 58th Dvořák International Radio Competition Concertino Praga.

In 2024, the competition will be held in the solo category, all of the instruments in the solo category are judged jointly.

THE AGE LIMITS
The age limit for any competitors playing the violin, piano, violoncello, cembalo, accordion, harp and guitar: the competition is open to musicians who have not yet turned 16 as of the date of the final, i.e. 14 September 2024.

The age limit for flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, trumpet, French horn, saxophone and trombone: the competition is open to musicians who have not yet turned 18 as of the date of the final round, i.e. 14 September 2024.

The first round of the competition takes the form of listening to anonymised recordings. After the finalists have been selected, the final round takes place in the form of a public concert performance at the Rudolfinum as part of the Dvořák Prague Festival programme, therefore in front of an audience, a jury composed of internationally renowned personalities of the performing and pedagogical scene and the microphones of Czech Radio.

PRIZES
The absolute winner will receive the right to make a professional recording in the Czech Radio studio and a special-purpose scholarship of €5,000 for further education or for the purchase of an instrument. The following musicians in the order will receive a special-purpose scholarship of 2,800, 1,700 and 700 euros.

A bonus for the winners of the competition is also an invitation to the traditional South Bohemian Festival Concertino Praga, which takes place shortly after the announcement of the results in the historic halls of Jindřichův Hradec, Český Krumlov, Tábor and Bechyně, with the assistance of the audience and the microphones of Czech Radio. The selected young musicians will return to the Czech Republic in the following years and will present their mastery at concerts produced by Czech Radio, Dvořák Prague Festival or other partners of the competition, such as the Zlatá Pecka Festival, Czech Centres, the The Viktor Kalabis and Zuzana Růžičková Endowment Fund and others.
