Levente Bubreg
The Austrian bassoonist is a semifinalist in Category II of the Concertino Praga 2025 competition.
Levente Bubreg was born in 2008 into an Austrian-Hungarian musical family. He began playing the bassoon at the age of eight. Since 2018, he has been studying with Daniele Muleri at the Tyrolean State Conservatory and with Dag Jensen at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Munich.
He made his solo debut at the age of eleven with the StringSZ orchestra and was awarded the Rotary Music Promotion Award. At the International Summer Academy (ISA), he received the Ignaz Pleyel Prize. In 2023, he was named absolute winner and received two special prizes at the 14th edition of the international Premio Crescendo competition in Italy. He has also been honored with the Tyrolean Prize for Classical Music Instrumentalists.
In the summer of last year, Levente performed at the renowned Verbier Festival in Switzerland as a bassoonist in the VFJO Junior Orchestra and the Camerata Prima Vienna – an ensemble of exceptionally talented young musicians supported by the Vienna Philharmonic. The highlight of his current season will be his performance at the Salzburg Festival in summer 2025.
