Otakar Antonín Štefan
Otakar Antonín Štefan from the Czech Republic secured his place in the final of Category II with his clarinet performance.
Otakar Antonín Štefan was born in 2008 in Prague. From an early age, he played the recorder and piano, and at the age of ten, he began learning the clarinet by himself. He attended clarinet courses with Ludmila Peterková, and later with professors Milan Polák and Vít Spilka. In 2024, he began studying clarinet at the Prague Conservatory under the guidance of professor Milan Polák. His achievements include third place at the International Music Competition in Moscow, first place at the International Music Competition in Krakow, first place at the Dřevohraní Woodwind Competition in Litvínov, the Euterpe Music Award in Berlin, first place at the Sava Dimitrov International Clarinet Competition in Sofia, and an honorary mention at the Amadeus International Piano Competition for pianists under 15 in Brno. At the age of twelve, he performed with the Šluknov Chamber Orchestra, playing the Concerto in E-flat major for clarinet and orchestra by Jan Evangelista Antonín Koželuh.
