Viktor Stocker
The young Czech accordionist impressed the jury with his distinctive performance and unusual instrument. In the final round, he will demonstrate that the accordion can be a full-fledged solo partner in classical music.
Viktor Stocker has been playing the accordion since the age of six and, as of September 2024, is studying at the Janáček Conservatory in Ostrava. He is a laureate of more than fifty national and international music competitions. Among his most notable achievements are first prizes from international accordion competitions in Vienna, Vilnius, Przemyśl, Poprad, and Pula, the title of absolute winner at the "Bach on Accordion" competition in Opole, Poland, and a first prize at the Vivo International Music Competition in New York.
In 2022, he won first prize and a special award for the interpretation of his own composition at the German competition Jugend musiziert. As a soloist, he has performed at prestigious venues including the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, the European Parliament, the Dvořák Prague Festival, the Hudba Znojmo Festival, and in concerts broadcast by Czech Television.
In addition to playing the accordion, Viktor is also an active composer. He is a four-time laureate of the German composition competition Jugend komponiert and has received awards from composition competitions in Luxembourg, France, and the USA.
