Fourteen-year-old cellist Daniel Wang is a rising talent praised by critics as an artist whose level of maturity far exceeds his age. 

Daniel won the Gustav Mahler Cello Competition, where he received both the Chairman’s Prize and a special award for his interpretation of a work by Joseph Haydn. His other accolades include first prizes at the American Virtuoso International Music Competition, the Paris International Music Competition, and the Malopolska International Music Competition. Highlights of his 2025–2026 season include performances with the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra, Ningbo Symphony Orchestra, Symphony Parnassus, and Cambrian Symphony. As the youngest artist selected for Project Spring Bird, an initiative supporting exceptional young talents led by maestro Long Yu, Daniel performed at the Beijing International Music Festival. He has also appeared on The Violin Channel and on National Public Radio’s program From the Top. Daniel currently studies with Richard Aaron at the San Francisco Conservatory Pre-College Academy.
