Sebastian Cretan
Sebastian Cretan was born in 2010 into a Czech-Romanian musical family. He began playing piano at the age of four and added trombone (and later baritone horn) at the age of nine.
He achieved major successes very early on: a solo piano concert at the Rudolfinum as part of Dvořák Prague 2021, winner and laureate of the Pro Bohemia International Competition 2022 (piano and trombone), soloist at the Zlatá Pecka Festival (piano and trombone), and winner of the Žestě Brno Junior International Competition 2024 (trombone and baritone horn). He is currently a first-year student at the Prague Conservatory in the trombone class of Professor J. Šimek. His most recent successes include double victories at the Pro Bohemia International Competition 2026 (trombone and baritone horn), where he also received the title of absolute winner in the low brass category. In May 2026, he won the trombone category at the Brno International Wind Instrument Competition. Since childhood, his hobbies have included tractors, and more recently motorcycles — he is currently restoring his Jawa 50 motorcycle.
