Vojtěch Stejskal
Vojtěch Stejskal was born into an artistic family in Prague in 2009. He has devoted himself to music since the age of five, first studying violin and piano before taking up the trumpet at the age of eight.
In 2024, he graduated from the Music Art Barrandov music school in the class of Tomáš Hrbáček. In 2023, he won first prize in both the regional and national rounds of the Czech Music School Competition. Thanks to the school’s then director Josef Vondráček, he had the opportunity to perform twice as a soloist with the Smíchov Chamber Philharmonic. He is currently in his second year at the Prague Conservatory in the class of MgA. Walter Hofbauer. Vojtěch regularly attends masterclasses at the Czech Brass Academy led by Marek Zvolánek. In 2023 and 2025, he studied with Professor Eric Aubier, and in 2024 he worked under the guidance of Marco Pierobon. For the Concertino Praga 2026 competition, he selected the Trumpet Concerto (1950) by Armenian composer Alexander Arutiunian. He especially enjoys performing 20th-century music and hopes one day to play this concerto accompanied by an orchestra.
